Lee Sadowski: Two years in. The next phase begins…

Today, Lee Sadowski features in Insurance Post, marking two years as our Chief Strategy Officer.

From planning to progress

With Lee’s arrival came a new strategic plan. Since then, we’ve launched three new services: PRS (our national property repair and reinstatement service), a market-leading Trace and Access service and a national boiler installation service. We’ve improved our structure and governance without losing the culture that defines us, and our market share has grown significantly over the past two to three years.

People and technology

Around 75% of our work comes from providing outsourced services to insurance carriers. We’ve deliberately stayed focused on home emergency and property repairs, and that focus has driven our growth.

Technology has been a big part of how we’ve got there. Around 50% of our claims now go directly from the policyholder to the engineer, with no manual intervention. But preferred remains a human-touch-led business. Automation is about redeploying resource to improve quality, not simply removing cost.

Our growth plan is firmly on track, and there are announcements in the coming weeks that will tell their own story.

What the next chapter looks like

“Lee understood what we had already built at preferred and knew exactly how to take it further. The results speak for themselves.” Tony Morrison, CEO

For Lee, the most fulfilling part of the past two years has been watching the team grow alongside the business. That matters as much to us as any contract win.

Our strategic plan runs through to 2029, with a clear goal: to be recognised as the market leader in market share, NPS and ease of doing business with. The foundations are in place. Watch this space.
